2024 Primary Election Results: Senate and House
Gary Crum earned 60% of the vote to become the Republican nominee for Senate District 10. Unopposed House primaries went as predicted.
Albany County’s representation in Cheyenne will be decided during the General Election in November. On Tuesday, Primary Election voters solidified what those races will look like.
In Senate District 10, the electorate chose Gary Crum over Keith Kennedy, awarding Crum 60% of the votes cast.
There was no primary contest for the Senate 10 Democratic nomination. Nor were there primary contests in any of the eight local primaries for Wyoming House seats. In all nine of these races, the unopposed candidates easily secured their party’s nomination.
Democrats were less likely to lose votes to write-in candidates. Each Democratic candidate won at least 99% of their party’s votes. Unopposed Republican candidates won between 88-96% of their party’s votes. Republicans’ relatively high write-in vote totals might be a function of a uniquely Albany County phenomenon: some portion of registered Republicans are not ideological conservatives, but maintain a GOP registration to take part in that party’s primary.
Across all Albany County districts, there were 6,312 ballots cast, including 2,449 absentee ballots submitted by mail or through early in-person voting.
The following are the Albany County Clerk’s unofficial vote tallies, with all precincts reported and absentee ballots counted. The names of those who will advance to the General Election in November are printed in bold.
