Albany County 2022 General Election Results
Sheriff Appelhans defeated his challenger. Voters rejected a conservative vision for schools. GOP and Dems will split county leadership, but Dems dominated most House races.
Albany County voters decided their legislative representation and county leadership, as well as the future of their sheriff’s office, school board and city council, during the general election Tuesday.
According to the Albany County Clerk’s unofficial results, 12,786 ballots were cast in the 2022 general election. That’s down from the last midterm election in 2018 when Albany County cast an historic 14,515 ballots.
In statewide races, Albany County favored Lynnette Greybull for U.S. Representative (6,074 votes to Harriet Hageman’s 5,685), Mark Gordon for Governor (7,448 votes to Theresa Livingston’s 4,133) and Megan Degenfelder for Superintendent of Public Instruction (6,811 votes to Sergio Maldonado’s 5,478).
