Albany County 2022 Primary Election Results
Nearly 86% of all ballots cast in Albany County were cast by Republicans. Shuster defeated McCallister in HD-14. Rep. Andrew kept his HD-46 seat. Sheriff Appelhans will face Senior in the general.
General election contests came into sharper focus Tuesday after Albany County voted for its local lawmakers and its county, city and law enforcement leaders.
According to the Albany County Clerk’s unofficial results, 9,881 ballots were cast. The vast majority of these – 8,453 ballots, or about 86% of all ballots – were cast by Republicans, leading to higher all-around vote totals in Republican primary contests. Just 1,225 Democratic ballots and 203 non-partisan ballots were cast.
Albany County was one of the only counties in Wyoming to favor Rep. Liz Cheney over her challenger Harriet Hageman – 4,218 to 3,967. Hageman unseated Cheney in the primary Tuesday and will most likely win the general election in November to become Wyoming’s next U.S. House Representative.
The following are the Albany County Clerk’s unofficial vote tallies, with all precincts reported and absentee ballots counted. Those who will advance to the general election in November are printed in bold.

*In several races, there was no candidate who filed to run, but there were significant numbers of write-in votes. (And in City Council Ward 3, there are more slots on the general ballot than there were candidates who filed.) Primary write-in candidates could appear on the general ballot for these races, but information about whose names were written-in is not yet available.
