Join the Laramie Reporter chat for live election results
In a first for this publication, Jeff Victor will be relaying election results in a Substack chat as they come in. You can follow along, and comment or ask questions — in a browser or through the app.
Today is Primary Election Day in Wyoming and residents of Albany County will make their voice heard in a number of important races — from nominating Senate District 10 candidates to deciding on Albany County Commission contenders to whittling down the field of Laramie City Council hopefuls.
And it’s all in preparation for even bigger decisions in November.
The polls closed at 7 p.m. (though if you’re already in line and haven’t voted yet, you will still be able to vote) and we will likely know who won several if not all of these races at some point tonight. As the results for local, county and state races pour in, the Laramie Reporter will be relaying those results in a Substack chat.
The chat allows subscribers — whether free or paid — to comment, ask questions and react to the results. It’s the first time the Reporter is attempting this alternative, interactive presentation of the news.
Frankly, it might not work. But it could be interesting so we’ll give it a go.
If chat is really not your thing, rest assured we will be reporting the results in a more traditional format as well. You can go to bed tonight knowing you will find the complete results waiting for you in your inbox tomorrow morning (as long as you’re subscribed). Additionally, the Reporter will dive into follow-up coverage, examining how it all went down and exploring what the results mean for the General Election contests to come.

How to get started
Get the Substack app by clicking this link (or the button below) or by finding the app in whatever app store your phone supports. New chat threads won’t be sent via email, so you can turn on push notifications to avoid missing updates — or you can leave notifications off and just check back regularly. Up to you. You can also access the chat on a browser.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
