Join the Reporter’s chat to receive — and discuss — live election results
Jeff Victor will be relaying local returns via Substack’s chat feature, providing updates throughout the night. You can follow along, and comment or ask questions, in a browser or through the app.
In two hours, the polls in Albany County will close and election officials will begin tallying the results precinct by precinct.
Local races for State Senate and State House — as well as the Albany County Commission, the Laramie City Council and the Albany County School Board — will shape the future of our community and its representation in Cheyenne.
As the results for local, county and state races pour in, the Laramie Reporter will be relaying those results in a Substack chat. The chat allows subscribers — whether free or paid — to comment, ask questions and react to the results.
The Reporter made its first foray into this alternative, interactive presentation of the news during the Primary Election in August.
Those taking part in the August chat were (mostly) civil and appreciated the endeavor, so we’re giving it another go.
If chat is really not your thing, rest assured we will be reporting the results in a more traditional format as well. You can go to bed tonight knowing you will find the complete results waiting for you in your inbox tomorrow morning — as long as you’re subscribed!
Additionally, the Reporter will dive into follow-up coverage, examining how it all went down and exploring what the results mean for the next legislative session and the next two to four years of county, city and school leadership.
Wyoming Public Radio will also share statewide results — courtesy of the Associated Press — as those results filter in. WPR will also be covering the races for the U.S. Congress and the Wyoming Legislature via its own live blog.

How to access the chat
Try clicking this link. You might already be set up to access the chat and follow along. If that doesn’t work, follow the next steps.
Get the Substack app by clicking this link (or the button below) or by finding the app in whatever app store your phone supports. New chat threads won’t be sent via email, so you can turn on push notifications to avoid missing updates — or you can leave notifications off and just check back regularly. Up to you. You can also access the chat on a browser.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
