Reporter to moderate bipartisan town hall
Chestek, Sherwood, Provenza, Rothfuss and Crum are planning to attend. Members of the public are invited to come with questions or submit them ahead of time.
The Laramie Reporter’s Jeff Victor will moderate a legislative town hall Tuesday evening in the Laramie High School Auditorium.
Hosted by Albany County’s delegation to the Wyoming Legislature, the majority of the evening will be dedicated to fielding questions from the public.
“The goal is to provide Albany County voters with access to their elected officials,” Victor said. “It will be a platform where constituents can raise concerns and provide direction to the people who represent them in Cheyenne. It’s important to hold people in positions of power accountable, and it’s important for the people in power to hear what’s going on in their districts.”
Members of the public can submit questions ahead of time via this online form. Constituents are encouraged to direct their questions to one or multiple individual lawmakers. Similar questions may be combined for efficiency.
There will also be limited opportunity for members of the audience to ask questions in-person on Tuesday night.
Five of the community’s six local lawmakers have confirmed they will attend: Reps. Ken Chestek (HD-13), Trey Sherwood (HD-14) and Karlee Provenza (HD-45) and Sens. Chris Rothfuss (SD-9) and Gary Crum (SD-10).
Rep. Ocean Andrew (HD-46) was also invited but has not responded.
The town hall runs from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Laramie High School Auditorium. It will not be streamed but may be recorded.
Excellent job moderating Jeff!
Ask Crum why he voted for junk science on the gun bill when the public overwhelming disapproved of the repeal of gun free zones?
