You know, a person could read your article and never know that the vast majority of public comment voiced opposition to the ad hoc working group. A reader would also have no idea that those opposed to the ad hoc working group claimed to have gathered over 1000 signatures on a petition expressing that opposition. Readers would also be ignorant of the fact that public comment criticized the effort to silence that opposition.

If you’re going to claim to be the Laramie Reporter, shouldn’t you at least make some effort at impartiality?

Hi Rob, thanks for commenting. I wanted to let you know that I wrote a story recently about the different perspectives on police oversight (here: https://laramiereporter.substack.com/p/council-inches-closer-to-police-oversight) and I will soon publish a story on this site solely about the petition itself, which I've been trying to get my hands on for a while and just received through a public records request.

The story above was focused on a different angle: the make-up of the working group and conflicts of interest. I try to focus on different aspects of an issue when I have to cover it repeatedly, in an effort to provide deeper and more varied coverage. Are there other elements of this issue you think have gone under-reported? I would love to hear your opinion.
