This is all hilarious. A City Council candidate gets charged with a felony. He pleads it down to a misdemeanor (which is pretty standard). Another City Council candidate comments here to bring out the "he can't be that dumb" defense. Shame they both lost in the election. It would have been like the Two Stooges.

Another troll crawls out of the woodwork. (Or is it just Greg, posting under an alias and talking to himself?) Just another example of the hate and vitriol that seems to be omnipresent on this blog.

Thanks for saying it; however, let Brett work out his issues as he is trying to convince himself that he could not have possibly aligned himself with someone so dumb. Repeating lies until they become "truth" is hallmark of the MAGA movement.

Then he rants about an independent journalist while ignoring that a BILLIONAIRE funds the right wing lies pumped out by the CSD. Old B. Wayne Hughes Jr. is part of the luck sperm club and he is just like Trump as his daddy made it but Jr. is spending it manipulating Wyomingites to believe lies. Townsquare Media is not the problem, neither is the CSD, but Jeff Victor is the enemy of the people; Jesus Brett give it a rest.

Hah. Greg, you know darn well that I'm no MAGA extremist, but YOU are showing your true colors as a hateful troll by making the false accusation. (It's a good thing that YOU were not elected.) And Jeff is no "journalist." He's a blogger pretending to be one. In any case, I stand by what I said: if Paul, who is tech savvy, were up to something malicious, he would have covered his tracks. The prosecutor's case was so weak that he was obviously glad to save face by not losing in a jury trial.

The charges against Montoya weren't credible. Paul is tech-savvy; if he was going to do something malicious, he knew enough to cover his tracks and hide his IP address by using a VPN or Tor. But he didn't, which indicates that there was no ill intent on his part. This was a malicious prosecution, which Jeff attempted to exploit in this blog to defame Paul (whom he did not want to win a seat on the City Council).
