Bad wannabe journalists rarely get a quote right. The phrase "palpably ridiculous" doesn't make sense, and no educated person would say that - certainly not a college level instructor. She would have said, "patently ridiculous." But then, as we have seen from other items on the site, that's the level of accuracy we can expect from this blog.

The phrase is both coherent and an exact quote.

Nope. Look up the word "palpable" in the dictionary. It makes no sense in this context. You're leaving readers with a bad impression of the person you're misquoting - a problem which too often occurs in poor "journalism."

Alright, I’m not going to argue over what makes sense. I understood her.

Regardless, it is an exact quote.

As a retired journalism professor, I like the phrase "palpably ridiculous." More conversational than "patently ridiculous," which is a bit too formal.

I looked it up. It means “noticeably or clearly.” Makes perfect sense in this context.

I come for the insightful journalism, but I stay for Brett's arguing about the wording of an exact quote.

Nice to see Brett hasn't changed since his......enthusiastic....commentary a decade ago on every article, every day on the old Boomerang website.

He's literally the EXACT same egotistical antagonist with zero self-awareness that he was ten years ago, and he remains completely oblivious to the fact that literally everyone who knows him (or at minimum, knows who he is) either hates him or laughs incessantly at him.

Although, it's a bit alarming that he's turning into John Guthrie-lite...mercilessly harassing and making stuff up about anyone that dares to cross or disagree with him.
